Does this ever happen to you?[edit]

Do you ever go "wait, Floq is agreeing, let me think about this some more and make sure..." :) Floquenbeam (talk) 19:36, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Floquenbeam: Every floqing time! :-D Levivich (talk) 19:43, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You're in my personal Category:Seems like a decent sort, but geez, we sure do seem to disagree about *a lot* of things! Floquenbeam (talk) 19:48, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I know what you mean, trust me it'd be so much easier if I could just completely write you off as a fool or a child but my left brain won't let me do that no matter how much my right brain might want to. You're in my personal Category:People who have great power and have no problem using it in ways that I agree with about 80% of the time but that other 20% drives me absolutely nuts. I think these categories may be forks of Category:Humans. Levivich (talk) 19:52, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Great power?! Please inform my wife immediately. Floquenbeam (talk) 19:56, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
(watching) lol - for a test, do you agree about Talk:Gustav Mahler? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:00, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Gerda, you know I love you, but please remember I have zero desire to get into an infobox discussion. This is, like, literally your only flaw. Floquenbeam (talk) 20:04, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't call you to an infobox discussion (there are few, anyway). Levivich, what do you see? (remember Wehrmacht?) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:13, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wer macht was hier?Nishidani (talk) 21:17, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I called you (anybody) to two comments that make me sad, in the light of this attempt of a compromise. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:13, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Dearie me, what a coincidence. A 1 Nov.edit, my birthday, and on Percy Grainger, whom I cannot recall without remembering how, outside of the Ringwood Bowling Alley, I 'treated' my melomanic Danish guest at the time (1977) to a lengthy rhapsody on the figure (whom he'd not heard of - we were talking about the function of fairy tales in high culture), having just read John Bird's biography of Grainger, only to find my extempore exercise all punctured (and my self-esteem) by an acute response, which more or less deconstructed my interpretation by suggesting I was talking, not about Grainger, but about myself. I felt like Ion must have felt after bumping into Socrates and having his pomposity bruised. One of the best lessons learnt from a close friend. That's a benchmark for serious friendship - to be trusted enough that an honest insight that may hurt engenders greater self-awareness rather than resentment of the messenger. Today's story mentions Bach and Mozart. Their infoboxes, which follow the compromise, are now state of the art, are you (all) aware? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:29, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Given Mozart's amorousness (and I listened to Bryn Terfel and Solti's Don Giovanni some days ago), I think Mozart deserves a nymphobox. Apologies to all women and native speakers of Strine. Nishidani (talk) 19:04, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, I am spending zero time these days worrying about nymphoboxes :-D Levivich (talk) 20:02, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry (if you do, people like me will), or give into ataraxia. We always have things to enjoy to get through the day like cheerfully singing along with Papageno while remembering the other side of the story. Chin up, friend.Nishidani (talk) 20:53, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
😂 Brilliant. Catholics should always follow Pa-Pa-Papagena. Levivich (talk) 21:05, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, just on a fine point of sectarian theology in those parts, speaking as a dropout from the Mick fold who still retains a certain jesuitical interest in such distinctions, I think Irish Catholics certainly followed, as the clip shows, Pa-Pa-Papagena. It's rather then the Proddies who need prompting in that regard (to gather from the wife's tale, (or neglected tail?) in this related clip). Cheers Nishidani (talk) 02:05, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A person will learn more about the difference between Catholics and Protestants from that single two-minute clip, than from the entire Wikipedia articles about Catholics and Protestants. I'm not sure if that's a testament to the clarity of Monty Python or the confusion of Wikipedia. Levivich (talk) 04:06, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The former naturally. In those times, one could afford to laugh wildly at satire's skewering of the world's capacity for inanity. Nothing's changed, except that no one laughs anymore, given the contemporary usury of an 'expense of spirit in a waste of shame.' But then again doddering dotage sours and I've overstayed my intrusion. Cheers Nishidani (talk) 07:56, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers, Nish! Levivich (talk) 17:43, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You once wheel warred with the office and won. Can't deny that kind of street cred. Levivich (talk) 20:04, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
(modestly brushes piece of lint off suit) well, hard to argue there. Floquenbeam (talk) 20:06, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Of course you realize I will bribe some admin to revdel all this and then deny I ever admitted any of it. Levivich (talk) 20:07, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll still know. Floquenbeam (talk) 20:08, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
